Questions about using AI with your shop
Which AI apps work with MetaFleet?+
ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. MetaFleet connects to each one as a custom connector, using a secure access key we set up for each person in your shop. You then ask questions in the chat window you already use, and answers come from your live MetaFleet data. Custom connectors are available on some plans of each AI app, so check yours.
Is it safe to let ChatGPT or Claude make changes in my shop?+
You stay in control. The connector uses each person's own MetaFleet login and permissions, so it can't do anything they couldn't do themselves. You can start read-only and allow changes later, every change is logged, and switching off a person's key stops access.
Can I use ChatGPT or Claude with my repair shop software?+
Yes, with MetaFleet. Add MetaFleet as a custom connector in ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity and ask about your shop in plain English: open jobs, AR over 60 days, revenue by tech, trucks due for PM, parts running low. If you allow it, it can also act, such as assigning a tech, booking a PM appointment or receiving a purchase order.
Do I need to be technical to set it up?+
No. We turn it on for your shop and send you a secure access key. You paste it into your AI app once, and you're done.
What can I ask my shop?+
Anything MetaFleet tracks: jobs, dispatch, billing, payments, parts, purchasing, inspections, PM, scheduling, customers and reports. Shops ask things like which customers are over 60 days, revenue by tech this month, which trucks are due for PM in the next two weeks, and which jobs are waiting on parts. Answers come from your live shop data.
Can it change things in MetaFleet, or only answer questions?+
Both, if you allow it. It can assign techs, book appointments, receive purchase orders, send statements and more. You decide whether it gets read-only access or can make changes.
Is my data used to train AI models?+
MetaFleet sends your AI app only what it needs to answer you, within your access. Whether that provider uses your chats for training depends on your plan and settings with them, so check those before connecting.
Does every person in my shop get it?+
Anyone you set up can use it. Each person connects with their own key and sees only what they see in MetaFleet: billing for the office manager, their own jobs for a tech.
