Diesel dispatch questions shops ask
What is diesel repair dispatch software?+
It takes a breakdown call, turns it into a job, and gets the right tech rolling with the details they need. MetaFleet does this for mobile and in-shop diesel work: calls are recorded and scored, jobs are offered to the best-fit tech by skills, service area, shift and real drive time, and every job is tracked through to payment.
Can MetaFleet run roadside and towing calls?+
Yes. Roadside repair and towing jobs share one board, one status flow and one invoicing process in MetaFleet. The job-site address drives the drive-time ranking for the tech offer, and customers can get an ETA window that accounts for the jobs already in the tech's queue.
Can my techs use MetaFleet on their phones?+
Yes. Techs use MetaFleet in the browser on any smartphone today, with nothing to install: job details, the job-site location, photos, and reading the VIN, plate or odometer from a photo. Native iOS and Android apps, built to keep working with no signal, are coming in Q4.
Will my older techs actually use it?+
The tech's screen is their jobs, the location and a button for photos. They snap the VIN, plate or odometer instead of typing it, and AI turns their shorthand into clean repair lines. If they can text a photo, they can use MetaFleet.
How does MetaFleet decide which tech gets a job?+
It checks who has the skills for the job, who covers that service area and who is free on their shift, then ranks them by real drive time plus the time left on their current job. It offers the job to the top tech with a countdown and moves down the list if nobody accepts. AI then explains the pick in one plain sentence.
Can I still assign jobs myself?+
Yes. Assign any job by hand whenever you want, or let MetaFleet offer it for you.
Does MetaFleet work with FleetNet (ServiceHub)?+
Yes. FleetNet (ServiceHub) requests land in one Requests queue. Accept a request and it becomes a job with no retyping. Status updates, invoices and documents go back to the network automatically, and AI drafts the work summary for your dispatcher to review and send. It's switched on for your shop during setup.
Are my calls recorded?+
Calls on your MetaFleet phone lines can be recorded, transcribed and scored so you can coach your team and catch the calls that went sideways. Recording laws vary by state, and some require every caller's consent, so check the rules where you operate before turning recording on.
